ABOUT RAVIDASSIA COMMUNITY CENTRE
Ravidassia Community Centre is a multicultural centre located in Hitchin. It serves everyone regardless of race, colour, caste, gender, religion, sexual orientation, or any other factor. The Centre is named after Sri Guru Ravidass Ji who was a great Indian Religious Leader and reformer of the fifteenth Century, who preached Social Justice, Fairness and Equality. Thus, the Centre draws inspiration from his name in its efforts for serving the Community at large. The main aim of the Centre has been Capacity Building for the community through its Services and Activities. They are summarised by the acronym SUM that stands for Support, Upskilling and Multicultural Awareness. Health Education and Promotion have been recently added to these.

Staff 

Mr Anil Bhagwat - Director  Anil was employed at Xerox as Project Manager of Research & Development. After Retiring in 1999, he joined the Ravidassia Community Centre as a Music Teacher. He teaches various Indian instruments, such as Tabla, Bhangra Dhol, etc. He was appointed Deputy Director for the Centre on 1st October 2005. Having numerous contacts throughout UK, he will be a valuable asset to the Centre's work.

MR Lukhvinder Singh Hunjan (Lucky) Centre Manager Mr Hunjan joined us on 1st Novemeber 2004 and has experience of many years of community service, and particularly has strong links with Black and Minority Ethnic Community in Hitchin.

Jay Mistry - Centre Development Manager and Fundraising Manager Person of Local Authority background, having also a vast experience in service of community, a useful person to contact for assistance and advice on community matters.

Harpreet Juneja - Administrative Assistant The cheerful voice, normally, answering phone, that exudes commitment & competence, and eagerness to help.
